Russian pilot commented on the fight between the Boeing 737 crew

A fight between pilots on board a Boeing 737 passenger plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv is an unusual case, said Honored Pilot of Russia Yuri Sytnik. The specialist shared his opinion in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

“My attitude towards this case is terrible. Although I want to say that after two or three months of working together, the commander and co-pilot already hate each other, they hate the smells, habits, jokes, and speech. Therefore, the selection of crews is carried out very carefully,” Sytnik shared.

He added that in this case, the selection of the crew was especially important, because the pilots turned out to be citizens of Russia and Ukraine.

“This is very difficult, and even more so in one crew, one careless word can cause aggression. Thank God that it happened, that one of them had enough intelligence, courage and strength to land the plane,” the expert noted.

Sytnik said that in his practice there were also conflicts between the commander and co-pilot.

“When I was a boss, one of the crew members came to me and complained that it was very difficult to work in this crew, there was incompatibility. We even had to send people into retirement. This is a very complex system. There is such a problem. It should be decided by the airline’s management,” he concluded.

Earlier, Israel scrambled fighter jets after a Boeing 737 passenger plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv sent out a distress signal followed by code 7500, which is used in a possible hijacking. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called an emergency meeting, but contact with the plane was lost.

Later it turned out that there was a fight between the pilots - one turned out to be Russian, the other Ukrainian.
