7 Suspects Arrested in Bolu Municipality Car Rental Tenders Investigation

7 more of the 21 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office were brought to the courthouse after the procedures at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command.

The procedures for the 8 suspects who were referred to the prosecutor's office yesterday and the 7 suspects who were brought today have been completed.

7 suspects, including Mayor Tanju Özcan, who was suspended from duty and detained for another crime, were sent to the court on duty for arrest, and 8 suspects were referred to the court on duty for judicial control.

Meanwhile, it was learned that efforts to capture 1 fugitive suspect continue.

Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the allegation of irregularities in car rental tenders in Bolu Municipality, since the suspended Mayor Tanju Özcan was detained for another crime, Deputy Mayor Gülden Özaydın, Deputy Cleaning Affairs Manager Basri Baytekin, realization officer S.E, Cleaning Works Directorate Inspection and Acceptance Commission Chairman B.T, commission members M.E.G, T.Y, M.Y, Tender and Purchasing Unit Supervisor E.Ö, Financial Services Directorate staff. In the technical examination, it was stated in the expert report that some garbage collection vehicles were shown as working on days when they were not actually working, and that payments were made to the contractor company based on these records. It was stated that, within the scope of 19 separate progress payments issued by the Bolu Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate, a total of 34 million 288 thousand 376 liras, including price difference and VAT, was made to MCY-Yeşilçam Business Partnership, and an excessive and inappropriate payment of 61 kuruş was made.

14 of the 21 suspects taken into custody were sent to the courthouse. 6 of those who were referred to the courthouse were released on condition of judicial control by the court on duty yesterday, after interrogations by the prosecutor's office.
