Brazil Coach Ancelotti Responded to Criticisms After the Draw with Australia

Brazil Coach Carlo Ancelotti responded to the criticism about the team's performance after the friendly match in which they drew 1-1 with Australia.

Brazil, which bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup in the last 16 rounds, drew 1-1 with Australia in its first preparation match after the tournament. The result caused criticism in Brazil.

The Italian coach stated that the criticisms towards him did not affect his decisions and said, "There has always been and will continue to be criticisms about my work. This does not affect the opinion I have about the national team and these players."

Ancelotti also announced his priorities for the new term.

The 67-year-old coach said, "Our priority now is to create a new generation of players who can take part in the national team in the near future. We have the 2028 Copa America and the 2030 World Cup ahead of us."

Stating that the development of young football players should be closely followed, Ancelotti said, "We must closely accompany the young football players who can represent the future. Despite the criticism, we have a future."

"EXPECTATIONS ARE VERY HIGH IN BRAZIL"

Emphasizing that coaching the Brazilian National Team brings with it high expectations, the experienced coach said, "When you become the coach of Brazil, the expectations are very high. You are expected to win the World Cup. However, I do not remember a year in my career when the expectations were not high."

Brazil will play its second friendly match against Australia in Brisbane on Tuesday. Ancelotti's team will then travel to India to face the host nation in Kolkata on October 3.
