Two more suspects were detained within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the disappearance of baby Büşra.
Detained father Yusuf Balıkçı and mother Elif Balıkçı and their relatives M.R.B. (60), R.B. (45), İ.B, M.D, M.B, K.D. who stayed in the tents area. (50), Ö.B. (19) and A.Ç are expected to be referred to the courthouse after their procedures.
On the other hand, after mother Balıkçı claimed that her husband killed her baby and left it on the land, AFAD, commando and gendarmerie teams started a new search operation in Göndüren village, İncedere Plateau, with the support of artificial intelligence-supported unmanned aerial vehicle and tracking dog.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNORSHIP
In the statement made by Sivas Governorship, it was stated that there was a need to make a press release again in order to inform the public correctly about the judicial processes being carried out.
In the statement, it was emphasized that the search for the baby had been carried out meticulously from the first moment, and the following was noted:
"Within the scope of the judicial investigation carried out regarding the incident, the scope of the investigation was expanded upon the contradictory statements of the family members, and all possibilities, including the possibility that the baby may have been killed, kidnapped or given to another person in exchange for financial benefit, are being evaluated from multiple perspectives. In line with the instructions of the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 10 people related to the incident have been detained and their judicial processes are continuing. As a result of the examinations and evaluations made by our Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, the family's 2017, 2018, 2021 and "Two girls and two boys, born in 2023, have been taken under state protection. Therefore, for the proper conduct of the investigation and the safety of the judicial process, it is important not to rely on public information and evaluations other than the statements to be made by the competent authorities, and the investigation continues in a versatile and meticulous manner by evaluating all possibilities."
THE MOTHER CHANGED HER EXPRESSION
On the other hand, mother Elif Balıkçı (27), who was detained within the scope of the investigation and claimed in her first statement to the prosecutor's office that her baby was given to someone else by her father because of a debt of 1 million lira, claimed in her new statement to the prosecutor's office that her daughter was killed by her husband.
In her statement, Mother Balıkçı stated that she was taking care of her children and animals in the plateau, and that she wanted to tell the truth because she had a bad conscience.
Balıkçı, who claimed that her first statement that a veterinarian took her daughter away was completely wrong and that she testified in this direction out of fear of her husband and sister-in-law, said that she did not know the veterinarian.
Explaining what happened on the day of the incident, mother Balıkçı said:
"After dinner, my wife was on the bed with my daughter Büşra on the mattress on the right side of the tent, and they had a blanket on them. Then I saw my wife hitting Büşra hard on the back with her right hand. 'What are you doing?' I asked and he said, 'I pat the child on his back so that he can sleep.' he said. At this time, my daughter was wearing a red sweater and a pink bodysuit underneath. My daughter's diapers were tied, but she was not wearing her pajamas. My husband told me, 'Pick up the animals, prepare them, I will take them to pasture.' he said. So I immediately prepared the animals. "When I entered the tent, Büşra was covered with a blanket and only her eyes were visible, I thought she was sleeping."
Mother Balıkçı, who claimed that she then went to her sister-in-law's tent and when she returned, saw her husband taking Büşra in his arms towards the area where the willow trees were located above the tents, said: "I did not see Büşra moving in my husband's lap. There was a distance of about 200 meters between my husband and me. That's why I couldn't ask where he took the child." he said.
After a while, Balıkçı claimed that his tent neighbor told him that Büşra was missing, and his sister-in-law R.B. said to him, "If the gendarmerie asks you questions, I slept and when I woke up, the child was not in the bed." He claimed that he wanted him to say it like this.
Mother Balıkçı stated that she also told the gendarmerie this way and that a search was made in the area that night, but they could not find the child.
"I REGRET NOT TELLING THE TRUTH FROM THE START"
Explaining that her relatives, her husband and she went to the opposite side of the tent in the morning of the next day, Balıkçı said:
"The direction we went was different from the direction my husband took Büşra. While searching the area we went, my husband's older brother, M.R.B., saw the red t-shirt, pink bodysuit and diaper that belonged to my daughter. He called us to him and we all walked towards where he was. When we came towards the clothes, M.R.B. said to me, 'Don't approach me, stay away, the bear has kidnapped her child and eaten her.' he said. Then they informed the gendarmerie. While we were waiting for the gendarmerie, my husband was sitting in a corner telling his brother and sister-in-law where he took Büşra and where he left her. He said that he took us to the stony area about 1-2 kilometers above our tent and put the stones side by side there, put my daughter Büşra inside and left it clear that he did not put any soil or stones on it. They didn't realize that I heard them while they were talking. I know the area my husband described, I can show you that area if I go. I regret not telling the truth from the beginning, but I couldn't because of my husband's fear. "I am complaining and filing a lawsuit against my husband Yusuf Balıkçı, who killed my daughter Büşra, took her to the field and left her among the stones."

BACKGROUND OF THE EVENT
Elif Balıkçı, a mother of 5 children who is engaged in animal husbandry in İncedere Plateau of Göndüren village, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center when she could not find her baby Büşra Balıkçı in the tent they lived in on September 10, and AFAD and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the village upon the notice.
AFAD, commando and gendarmerie teams started a search for the missing baby with the support of artificial intelligence-supported unmanned aerial vehicle and tracking dog.
Within the scope of the investigation, 6 suspects, including the baby's father Yusuf and mother Elif Balıkçı, were detained.
Upon the request of the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the baby's disappearance, the Criminal Court of Peace issued a publication ban decision.
