A high alert regime has been introduced in the Trans-Baikal Territory due to the increasing frequency of bears entering populated areas

Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov in his channel on the Max platform announced the introduction of a high alert regime in the region. The reason for this decision was the increasing number of cases of wild animals, mainly bears, entering populated areas.

“The situation with the release of wild animals, primarily bears, into populated areas of our region requires special attention. At the meeting of the CoES, they decided to introduce a high alert regime throughout the entire territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory from September 29, 2026,” noted the head of the Russian region.

As part of the measures taken, Alexander Osipov instructed the heads of municipal districts to form specialized working groups and organize timely notification of the local population about the potential danger. Special attention is paid to the issue of the sanitary condition of the territories: the heads are instructed to take strict control over the process of removing household waste in order to prevent the attraction of predators to places where garbage accumulates.

In addition, the governor said that law enforcement agencies and supervisory agencies have been transferred to an enhanced mode of ensuring public order. Regular preventive raids will be carried out in populated areas of the region to monitor the situation and prevent possible incidents involving wild animals.
