Anhembi Chamber revokes mayor Jairo de Góis' mandate on suspicion of fraud in mechanical services

The trial is the result of the Processing Committee (CP) established to investigate irregularities and suspected fraud in the contracting of mechanical maintenance for a vehicle in the public fleet, budgeted at almost R$59 thousand, in addition to omission of responses to requests for inspection from the Legislature.

Voting was authorized after a sentence handed down by judge Lucas Gomes Henriques de Araújo, from the 1st Court of the District of Conchas (SP), in a writ of mandamus. The magistrate extinguished the effects of the injunction granted to the defense of the now former mayor in July, deemed the commission's acts valid and set a deadline of five days for parliamentarians to define the case in plenary.

"I am confident that my commitment is to the population. The population of Anhembi knows what we acquired at the beginning of the government and knows that we have managed to conduct everything in the best possible way, bringing many positive results so far. And it is now up to our noble councilors to analyze all the work done. We have improved 75% of our health department, we have acquired several vehicles with our own resources, we have paid off millions of debt acquired from the past administration. And that, after 1 year and 7 months, we can confirm that we have left a situation of calamity and we are already moving towards a comfortable situation, to put several projects into practice."
