Change at the top: Valerio Mele leaves Strait of Messina and becomes COO of Anas

Change at the technical summit between Strait of Messina and Anas. From next October 1st Valerio Mele, current technical director of the company that manages the Messina Strait Bridge project, will assume the role of Chief operating officer of Anas, reporting directly to the CEO. This is, Stretto di Messina underlines, the role of the highest technical summit of the company.

Mele thus arrives at Anas after three years spent in the technical management of the bridge project. A period in which, the company highlights, it has gained significant experience by closely following the development of the work and the different phases of its process.

The transition occurs at a particularly significant moment for the project. In fact, the investigation is expected to start at the Cipess in the next few days, a step which, according to the Strait of Messina, will open a new phase in the development of the bridge.

However, the temporal coincidence between the change of assignment and the start of the investigation is traced by the company to an already defined schedule. Mele's new role in Anas, the note specifies, was in fact "decided and shared for some time".

Stretto di Messina also underlines that it has already acquired the technical resources necessary for the construction of the bridge, thus ensuring the continuity of the structure called upon to follow the project even after the passage of Mele to Anas.
