Candidate proposes federal agencies in areas of exploration and defense of tougher borders

During the hearing, he proposed taking bodies such as the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai), police and the Federal Revenue Service to the exploration areas. The measure, according to him, would make it possible to combat crimes such as drug and weapons trafficking and guarantee tax collection.

"Here we don't talk about degrading the environment. And when I say today that chaos is not new today, that degradation often happens, it's because the State is not there within the indigenous communities. Think about it with me: if the State were there with Ibama, with Funai, were there with the police there, there would not be drug and weapons trafficking within the mines today. You would not have the degradation of the environment that is happening and you would have tax collection with the Federal and State Revenue Service itself within the mining", said the candidate.

Nicoletti stated that, with the regulation, the State would begin to monitor and adapt mining processes, with the aim of guaranteeing environmental balance. He also proposed prior consultation with indigenous communities and advocated that indigenous people themselves have the option to explore.

"We also need an intelligence system and an integration of forces, because today there is no point in working only with the PF and PRF in one aspect, leaving the Civil Guard and the Military Police out. We need a Public Security Secretariat within this state that unites all the forces so that we can work together to combat the entry, mainly, of weapons and drugs," he said.

The candidate also stated that the current federal government has neglected borders and defended a "stronger and tougher" immigration law. Among the measures he cited are requiring criminal records from anyone entering the country and requiring a vaccination card.
