Police arrest two suspects after suspected arson attack on headquarters of defense company Rohde & Schwarz in Munich, Germany

It was reported on the 3rd that the headquarters of defense manufacturer Rohde Schwarz was suspected of being set on fire in Munich, a large city in southern Germany. The police have arrested two suspects.

A suspected arson incident was reported outside the headquarters of a well-known military industrial company in Munich, Germany on Thursday (3rd). The police later arrested two Bulgarian suspects at a nearby gas station. Due to the recent series of power grid damage incidents in Germany and the suspicion of drone attacks at the airport last month, the authorities are comprehensively raising the alert level of critical infrastructure.

According to Reuters, the Bavarian state police stated that a fire broke out late at night at a construction site near the headquarters of Rohde & Schwarz, a major defense factory that produces drone radars and jamming systems. Fortunately, the fire was put out quickly and no serious damage or casualties were caused. The police subsequently arrested a 28-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man involved in the case, and are currently investigating their motives.

This week, Germany's power grid was hit by two sabotage attempts in the states of Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia within 24 hours. The Interior Ministry warned that foreign forces may use extremist groups as sabotage agents. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul held talks with his French and Polish foreign ministers on Thursday and summoned the Russian ambassador to strongly condemn the terrorist acts of the relevant countries.
