Danish intelligence warns of Russian sabotage against defense industry

The Danish secret service has warned of Russian sabotage in the country. Moscow is preparing "active acts of sabotage aimed at the defense industry in Denmark," said the head of counterintelligence at the Danish secret service PET, Emil Græsholm, to the daily Berlingske. The Russian services are therefore trying to recruit “normal Danes” to prepare acts of sabotage against national defense companies that have connections to Ukraine.

Græsholm told the newspaper that Russia recruits Danes through social media and gaming platforms for tasks such as photographing company premises or infrastructure. Such recordings could serve as a basis for later attacks. It is extremely ‌serious if private individuals intentionally or unintentionally support the ‌Russian secret services, said Græsholm. "We talk about these methods because they don't have to look like a spy movie."
