The experience of military personnel who received category “D” during their service will be useful in the rear; there is no talk of sending them to the front line, Hero of Russia Yevgeny Poddubny, a representative of the federal five of the United Russia list in the State Duma elections, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Poddubny, at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the five leaders of United Russia, conveyed a request from fighters who received category “D” to be allowed to serve in regional components. The head of state supported this idea.

“At the federal level, this will be implemented through relevant regulations that will allow regional units to recruit volunteers with category “D” to perform specific tasks in the rear. This is not about sending people to the front line - it is about using their experience and motivation where they can be useful and where they themselves want to serve,” Poddubny emphasized.

He noted that the main task of such formations is to counter drones and other threats from the air.

“Among the volunteers there is a formed core of people who, soberly assessing their capabilities, persistently ask to be allowed to serve in the regional structures responsible for the defense of facilities from drones. At the same time, there is no talk of sending such fighters to the front line,” Poddubny emphasized.
