Champions League 2026/2027: Roma draws with Fenerbahce, Como wins their debut against Leipzig

The first day of the championship phase of the Champions League 2026/2027 ended today. (ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS OF CHAMPIONS) After the two defeats suffered by Inter - falling at the Bernabeu 2-1 against Real Madrid - and by Napoli - beaten at home by Arsenal 1-0 - the other two Italians involved in the competition took to the field this evening. Roma drew at the Sukru Saraçoglu stadium against Fenerbahce, in a match that ended 1-1, while Como - making its debut in European cups - beat Leipzig 4-1 at Sinigallia. The Champions League will return with the second matchday on 13 and 14 October.

At the start of the second half Fenerbahce equalised, with Brown able to beat Svilar in the 48th. The home team regained courage and came close to turning the game around a couple of times, but Roma also became dangerous: however, the result never changed again, and the match ended 1-1.
