Charles Spencer opens up about tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry

Charles Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana and the author of the memoir "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister", which contains allegations that are always on the agenda, spoke about the rift between his nephews Prince William and Prince Harry. In an interview with the BBC, Spencer rejected the perception in the media that he was siding with Harry and stated that he stood by both of his nephews.

"I think there's a perception in the media that I'm on Harry's side. However, I'm on the side of my late sister's sons, both of them. If either of them wanted something, I'd be equally on their side," Spencer, 62, said. Emphasizing that there are many reasons behind the disconnection between the two brothers, originating from both sides, Spencer stated that he hopes the problem will be resolved one day.

Speaking to the CBS Sunday Morning program, Charles Spencer pointed out that the tension between Harry and William may be related to the trauma of losing their mother at a very young age.

Commenting on his sister Diana, who died in a traffic accident in Paris in 1997, Spencer said, "Diana would have been a truly magnificent queen if her marriage had continued. It would be very good for Britain to have a superstar in that role."

CLAIM: "WE WILL FORGET DIANA SOON"

One of the most striking details in Charles Spencer's book was the telephone conversation he had with the then Prince of Wales, today's King of England, Charles III.

According to the information reported by the Daily Mail, Spencer said that before Diana's funeral was held, King Charles told him, "Rest assured. We will forget about her very soon!" he claimed to have said. Spencer stated that he was greatly surprised by these statements and expressed his reaction on the phone.
