Stocks broke their rising streak before the holiday, VN-Index dropped more than 4 points

234 stocks on the Ho Chi Minh City floor adjusted, causing stocks to break their rally before the holiday, but thanks to Vingroup code, VN-Index only dropped more than 4 points.

The HoSE representative index went below the reference almost all day. In the morning, selling pressure from pillar stocks caused VN-Index to quickly lose the 1,820 mark and reach 1,810 points. After 10 a.m., the stock was near the 1,800 point area - a psychologically important price zone. However, the immediate demand for entry has helped the market improve again.

In the afternoon, the general index mainly moved across the 1,820 point area. However, the main driving force comes from a number of pillar codes, while the number of discounted stocks still accounts for nearly two-thirds of the market.

VN-Index closed at nearly 1,828 points, down more than 4 points compared to the pre-holiday session. This also ended the stock's longest winning streak of the year.

The general index's correction was not deep, but the entire HoSE floor had 234 stocks decreasing, 2.6 times the number of stocks increasing. This shows that the market is leaning strongly towards the negative side. Red covered 13 out of 19 industry groups, selling pressure concentrated on retail, securities, banking, resources, and technology stocks.

Vingroup's VIC has become a platform for the market. According to VnDirect's calculations, this code supports nearly 14 points for the general index, becoming the main driving force to help VN-Index not fall too deeply. VIC today increased 3.6% to 244,500 VND per unit. This is also the most actively traded stock on the market with more than 1,818 billion VND.

During the adjusted stock session, HoSE liquidity was recorded at nearly 17,500 billion VND, a slight increase of 0.6%. However, this is still not a high level, showing that investors are still cautious, choosing to stand aside and observe.

However, market sentiment deteriorated when foreign investors returned to net selling about 1,531 billion VND, the highest level since the end of July. A series of stocks were net sold over hundreds of billions such as VCB, VPB, TCB, VIC, HPG and MSN.

Today's market movements are in line with the forecasts of some previous securities companies. Many analyst groups believe that it is necessary to be cautious when the market only trades 2 sessions this week and liquidity may weaken because a part of individual investors actively skip the short trading week.

Saigon - Hanoi Securities (SHS) commented that the market is starting to differentiate when heading towards strong resistance areas. High price pressures may begin to increase. Experts recommend that investors consider increasing the proportion when there are fluctuations, adjusting at reasonable price areas, and do not recommend disbursement to chase at high price areas.

Beta Securities (BSI) added that 10-year government bond yields in many major economies increased due to selling pressure, posing potential risks to market sentiment. Therefore, investors should limit chasing purchases and prioritize observing the reaction of cash flows.
