Control of UAV exports from China

In the joint statement published by the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs and the Hardware Development Department of the Central Military Commission, it was stated that China will regulate and improve the control measures regarding the export of autopilot technology developed for unmanned aerial vehicles, some technologies for the development, production and use of unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles with some special equipment and engines developed for unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the statement, it was stated that unmanned aerial vehicles can be used for dual military and civilian purposes due to their nature, and that the export of products with the specified features will be subject to licensing.

It was emphasized in the statement that the measures aim to ensure China's national security and interests and to comply with international obligations to prevent the proliferation of weapons, and that the Chinese government is committed to maintaining the stability of global industry and supply chains, and that it will evaluate license applications for the export of the products in question in accordance with the laws and regulations, and will approve applications that meet the conditions.
