Trump attacks CNN and MSNBC after a court ruling overturns his ban on media access to the White House

On Friday, US President Donald Trump again criticized CNN and MSNBC, claiming that their viewership was very low, after an American court ruled to overturn his ban on three major American media outlets entering the White House.

Trump wrote in a post on his official account on his “Truth Social” platform, on Friday: “Viewership rates for CNN and MSNBC have decreased significantly, and the main reason is the lack of credibility!” “They write nothing but negative news about a man who won the election by a landslide, winning all seven swing states, the popular vote, 86% of the counties, etc.”

On Thursday, a federal court issued a ruling requiring the White House to re-allow journalists working for CNN, MSNBC, and the Politico website to enter it, after the court found that the restrictions imposed by the administration conflict with established legal precedents.

This decision is considered a major victory for press freedom, despite the possibility of legal challenges or other confrontations in the future over the issue of media access.

Federal Judge Timothy Kelly on Thursday ordered the Trump administration to restore CNN, MSNBC and Politico's access to the White House.

The federal judge's order came after the three American news media outlets, which President Trump banned from entering the White House, filed a lawsuit.

In documents submitted to the court and during a hearing held on Wednesday, the media organizations’ lawyer said that the ban contradicts previous court rulings, violates due process, and was issued simply because Trump disdains these journalists.
