Pioneer will end its smartphone car navigation app “COCCHi” on November 30th

Pioneer announced on August 18th that it will discontinue its smartphone car navigation app ``COCCHi'' on November 30th. Although the cumulative number of downloads has exceeded 1.5 million, it will end approximately three years after its launch. The service will be terminated "due to a review of the business and service provision system."

COCCHi will start in September 2023. Utilizing the route search technology and voice guidance know-how cultivated through the development of car navigation systems for the Carrozzeria brand, its features include route guidance that avoids narrow roads and illustrated guidance at intersections and highway junctions.

In addition to the free plan, there are basic (400 yen per month) and premium (650 yen) plans, and the paid version has features such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, improved accuracy of traffic information, and Orvis information display. It also supported the display of Zenrin residential maps as an option.

Prior to the end of the service, we will stop accepting new applications on September 16th and stop automatic renewal of paid plans. The free plan will end on the same day, and the monthly paid plan will expire on the contract expiration date.
