Broker found dead in home: woman arrested on suspicion of crime

A woman was arrested on suspicion of killing accountant Ênio Mongth Rodrigues da Silva, who was found dead inside his home, in Setor Maysa II, in Trindade, in the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia. According to the Civil Police, the woman being investigated had kept the victim tied up and made bank transfers from his account to her own before killing him. The arrest took place on Thursday (5), in Caldas Novas, in the south of Goiás.

According to the Trindade Homicide Investigation Group (GIH), the accountant was found dead by his own sister, with signs of hanging and several stab wounds. During the investigation, the police identified the suspect and discovered that she had carried out bank transactions while the victim was tied up. The woman was located in Caldas Novas, where she was arrested.

The Civil Police did not inform the relationship between the person under investigation and the accountant, nor the amount transferred from the victim's account. The woman's identity was also not disclosed, so g1 was unable to locate the defense. The case is being investigated as a qualified homicide.

Ênio was found dead on June 24, inside the house where he lived, in Setor Maysa II. At the time, his sister, Leideanes Rodrigues, told reporter Rodrigo Melo, from the newspaper O Popular, that she hadn't heard from the accountant for a few days. According to her, her brother had moved from Aparecida de Goiânia to Trindade about ten days before the crime, and the family had to look for his address.

“On Tuesday night I managed to locate his residence and came to the place, where we found him already dead”, reported Leideanes at the time.

The accountant's body was found lying face down, with blood around it and puncture marks on the back. At the time, police chief Thiago Escandolhero reported that the injuries could have been caused by knife blows and that there were also signs of hanging. The body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for examinations.

After the death, the Regional Accounting Council of Goiás (CRCGO) released a note lamenting the crime and offering solidarity to the family. The entity also asked that the circumstances of the death be clarified and that those responsible be identified.

According to family members, Ênio left two children.
