Military police officer is arrested after shooting and killing a woman and leaving four people injured, in DF

According to information from the Military Police (PMDF), a group of 16 people were returning from a birthday celebration, in a vehicle rented to transport the guests, when the military police officer fired a firearm.

The shots hit five people. A 26-year-old woman died at the scene.

The other four victims received medical care from the Fire Department (CBMDF) and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). The victims were taken to health units conscious and stable.

In a statement, the PMDF said that it "deeply regrets the episode, expresses solidarity with the family and friends of the fatal victim and wishes the injured people a speedy recovery. The institution reaffirms that it does not condone conduct of this nature and that all applicable legal, criminal, disciplinary and administrative measures will be adopted."
