Cut on the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed line due to the storm

The storm that keeps Catalonia on alert this Wednesday has forced Adif to temporarily cut the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed line, with the aim of being able to repair as soon as possible a breakdown that affects the electricity supply between Sant Vicenç dels Horts and El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) as a result of the rains.

The decision to interrupt circulation on the line responds to the need to cut the electrical voltage in the catenary in order to repair it. The outage will last an estimated two hours and began at 11:00 a.m., so, if the effects of the storm do not continue to worsen, the reopening should occur around 1:00 p.m. this Wednesday.

Sources from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility explain on social networks that the incident is currently generating delays of up to one hour, which could increase if the fault is not repaired as soon as possible. In this regard, Adif insists that its staff is working to solve the incident "as soon as possible."
