President Erdoğan Met with US Think Tank Representatives

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "We believe that our close cooperation with the USA will produce added value not only in two plans, but also in establishing peace, stability and tranquility in our region." he said.

In New York, where he was on the occasion of the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations, Erdoğan met with representatives of US think tanks at the meeting held at Türkevi under the coordination of the Presidential Directorate of Communications and the Foundation for Politics, Economics and Social Research (SETA).

In his speech here, Erdoğan thanked the Presidential Directorate of Communications and SETA for organizing this meeting and said, "These meetings, which have become traditional, enable us to understand each other better and take a tour of the horizons on world issues." he said.

Referring to the joint defense agreement signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in Mecca, President Erdoğan said:

"With this agreement, we aim to establish the axis of stability that we feel is lacking most in our geography. It is essential to establish freedom of navigation and the sovereignty of the countries in the region in the Strait of Hormuz. In Syria, protecting the territorial integrity of the country, securing the rights of all ethnic and religious communities and completely clearing the country of terrorist organizations remains our priority. We believe that our close cooperation with the USA will produce added value not only in two plans, but also in establishing peace, stability and tranquility in our region."
