Cyberattack at the DGFiP: the administration confirms the theft of data of 678,000 taxpayers

The vagueness around the “illegitimate access” to which the information system of the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFIP) was a victim a few weeks ago is dissipating somewhat.

This Friday evening, the director general of the tax administration, Amélie Verdier, apologized to taxpayers during a briefing organized for the press. The opportunity for the representative to once again confirm the theft of data which targeted its services and concerns 678,000 individuals and professionals, to call on those affected to exercise caution, and to further detail the contours of this “serious” event.

Last June, the tax administration detected the “compromise of an agent account,” said Amélie Verdier.
