The third Jilin Province Vocational Skills Competition opens in Siping

China News Service, Siping, September 7 (Tan Weiqi, Jin Qiao) On the 7th, the third Vocational Skills Competition of Jilin Province opened in Siping. The competition covers key areas such as advanced manufacturing, digital skills, modern services, and specialty industries. It focuses on new occupations, new business formats, and new technologies, and sets up a number of digital skills competition projects.

With the theme of "Building Dreams with Craftsmanship and Creating the Future with Technology", this competition is hosted by the Jilin Provincial People's Government and jointly organized by the Jilin Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Siping Municipal People's Government. During the three-day competition period, 573 technical athletes from across the province gathered on the field and competed on the same stage, demonstrating the style of Jilin's technical talents in the new era with their superb skills.

It is understood that this competition not only covers equipment manufacturing, electrical technology, mechanical design, welding technology and other core tracks that support the province's industrial upgrading, but also covers people's livelihood services, traditional skills and other characteristic tracks that highlight the inheritance of ingenuity. The competition venue is simultaneously set up with 11 city (state) characteristic exhibition halls, a comprehensive exhibition hall for provincial skills achievements, and five technical college themed exhibition halls, presenting the fruitful results of Jilin Province’s vocational skills training, technical education development, and high-skilled talent team building in an all-round and multi-angle manner.

At the opening ceremony, Shao Bo, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, said that they will continue to improve the skilled talent training system, improve the lifelong vocational skills training system, deeply promote the "Skills Light Up the Future" training action, accelerate the construction of a knowledge-based, skilled, and innovative workforce, and provide skilled talent support to strive to promote Jilin's comprehensive revitalization and high-quality development.

In the past three years, Jilin Province has continued to improve its skilled talent cultivation system and established a comprehensive skills competition system led by the World Skills Competition and the National Skills Competition, with provincial competitions as the main body and industry and local competitions as supplements. At the same time, we innovate and implement the "match instead of evaluation" talent evaluation model to open up the entire chain of competition, talent evaluation, honor incentives, and employment.

Up to now, Jilin Province has built a total of 30 national-level high-skilled talent training bases, 60 national-level skill master studios, 121 provincial-level chief technician studios, and 40 provincial-level master-apprentice workshops. It has successfully cultivated 9 winners of the "China Skills Award" and 133 national technical experts... A large number of outstanding skilled talents have stood out, and the "four-in-one" talent mechanism of competition, evaluation, awards, and employment continues to improve. (over)
