To welcome the National Sports Day, Kuomintang Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ke Zhien proposed four major sports policies: pickleball, introducing HYROX, developing event tourism and striving for international marathon certification to create a "sports capital".

Ke Zhien said that Kaohsiung is blessed with sunshine and abundant sports venues. She advocated that the development of sports policies should be in the direction of "universal popularization, international integration, and industrial upgrading" so that all age groups can move with peace of mind and health, and make Kaohsiung the "Sports Capital of Taiwan."

She pointed out that pickleball has become popular all over the world in recent years. In the future, the idle badminton and tennis courts in Kaohsiung can be revitalized and converted into multi-functional courts, and spaces such as shopping malls, parks and MRT stations can be inventoried to create an all-weather swing base. At the same time, "Kaohsiung Pickleball Day" has been established, free trials are regularly promoted, and cooperation with schools and long-term care institutions can be promoted to implement cross-generational happiness for all.

She also advocated that if she serves as the mayor of Kaohsiung in the future, she will strive for the globally popular HYROX physical fitness competition, and use Taiwan's first officially certified Sanmin Sports Center as a base to connect the local fitness and sports tourism industries to build Kaohsiung into an important city for physical training in the Asia-Pacific.

In terms of developing event tourism, Ke Zhien said that in the future, international events and large-scale sports activities will be the core, connecting the hotel, catering, transportation and sports equipment manufacturing industries, attracting domestic and foreign players and audiences through sports events, and amplifying the benefits of tourism, consumption and city branding.

She further mentioned that the Kaohsiung International Marathon was known as "the friendliest city marathon in Taiwan" in the past. In the future, it will continue to develop towards internationalization and actively seek certification from the World Athletics Road Race Label to create an international label event with Kaohsiung characteristics, attracting the world's top athletes and international runners to Kaohsiung, making the marathon not only an event, but also a city brand.
