The criminal case into the disappearance of the Usoltsev family may be closed if the investigation reliably establishes that they were not victims of a crime. The lawyer of the First Krasnoyarsk Regional Bar Association, Dmitry Kravchenko, spoke about this, writes TASS.

“The investigation period can be extended if necessary, or, if everything possible has been done at the moment, it can be suspended and subsequently resumed,” the specialist noted.

The case can be closed only if it is established that the disappearance of people was not a crime, but other reasons - an accident, an animal attack, and so on, Kravchenko clarified. According to him, there are no deadlines for the investigation of such criminal cases.

It was previously reported that the son of Irina Usoltseva, who disappeared in the Krasnoyarsk taiga almost a year ago, Danil Batalov, is not searching for his family on his own. As Batalov noted, now all that remains is to “wait and not give up.” He also expressed confidence that his relatives are not in Kuturchyn.

The Usoltsev family - Sergei, Irina and their little daughter, as well as a corgi dog - disappeared at the end of September last year. They went on a hike to Mount Buratinka and did not return.
