Hsinchu County Government reports another corruption case! Liao Chenkai, an employee of the Public Works Department, is suspected of being "supported" by property developers for a long time, and even entrusted builders to handle stocks and invest in construction projects on their behalf. He also accepted cash, stock dividends, brand-name bags and banquets from the operators. The amount involved was as high as 12.94 million yuan. Yesterday, the Hsinchu District Prosecutor's Office launched a public prosecution against Liao Nan and seven other people in the related industry in accordance with the Corruption Crimes Act and other crimes.
The whole case was transferred to the Hsinchu District Court, and the judge ruled that Liao Nan and the business owner surnamed Liu should be detained without permission. The Hsinchu County Government stated that it respects justice.

The prosecutor pointed out that Liao Nan had worked in the Public Works Department of Zhuxian County Government since 2000. Jiang Nan, the head of Qianyao Company, has started a "long-term cooperation" with Liao Nan since 2015 in order to ensure that the construction project can smoothly obtain construction and operating licenses. The prosecutor pointed out that Liao Nan's personal criminal gains amounted to more than 12.94 million yuan, and local capital market operators earned more than 53 million yuan due to overcharges and tax evasion. After the incident, Liao Nan took the initiative to pay back more than 1.73 million yuan, and the business owner also paid back 50 million yuan, and the prosecutor detained the case.
