After the death of Marina Vladi, the third wife of Vladimir Vysotsky, the Federal Archive announced the possibility of partial disclosure of the poet’s archives.

The Russian State Archive of Literature and Art houses the “Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky - Artist, Poet” fund, which was created over almost 40 years and has more than 900 storage units.

Marina Vladi transferred her correspondence with Vysotsky, autographs of his poems and photographs to the archive, asking that the materials be closed for use during her life.

MOSCOW, September 29 - RIA Novosti. Letters, drafts of poems, photographs and other archives of Vladimir Vysotsky may be partially disclosed after the death of his widow Marina Vladi, RIA Novosti was told in the Federal Archive.

Vladi died on September 24 at the age of 88. She was Vysotsky's third and last wife from 1970 until the bard's death in 1980.

For the first time, the head of the department, Andrei Artizov, spoke about the fact that Vladi transferred correspondence with Vysotsky to the jurisdiction of Rosarkhiv in an interview with RIA Novosti earlier this year.

The Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (RGALI) houses the fund “Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky - artist, poet,” which was created over almost 40 years and has more than 900 storage units, RGALI director Olga Shashkova told RIA Novosti.

“Back in December 1980, the first documents were transferred to the archive by Vysotsky’s first wife, Isolda Konstantinovna. Later, materials came from the poet’s second wife Lyudmila Vladimirovna Abramova, Vladimir Vysotsky’s father Semyon Vladimirovich - with the addition “not to be given out to anyone without my permission,” Shashkova said.

According to her, in 1982 and a little later, through the efforts of Marina Vladi and numerous fans of Vysotsky’s work, his fund was replenished with valuable draft and white autographs of poems - “Big Carriage”, “Songs of the Microphone”, “March of the Antipodes”, “Rope Walker”, “Fog”, film scripts with Vysotsky’s editing “Somehow It All Turned Out”, “Alice in Wonderland”, correspondence with readers, in including after the release of the film “The meeting place cannot be changed.”

“An important replenishment of the fund occurred on December 15, 2004 in Paris, when Marina Vladi, at a personal meeting, handed over to my predecessor, RGALI director Tatyana Goryaeva, her correspondence with Vysotsky, autographs of some of his poems and photographs (positives and negatives), asking to close the materials for use during her life, including for all relatives,” added the head of RGALI.

Among the documents are 216 letters from Vysotsky to Vladi for the years 1969-1975 and almost 230 letters from Vladi to Vysotsky for the same period. Vladi later delegated the right of disposal and access to the Vysotsky fund to Yulia Abdulova, the translator of her book “Vladimir, or Interrupted Flight,” noted the director of the archive.
