Norway allowed the export of military equipment to Moldova

The Norwegian authorities have allowed the export of their military products to Moldova.

Export of military equipment, related services and training is possible only to government agencies of Moldova.

MOSCOW, September 30 - RIA Novosti. The Norwegian authorities have allowed the export of their military products to Moldova, the government of the Scandinavian country reported.

Previously, Moldova did not have permission to receive weapons from Norway.

“After a thorough analysis of the domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova, the government has decided that it can allow the export of both military equipment from Norway and related services and training... mediation and exchange of technology,” the communiqué says.

As noted, exports can only be made to government agencies of Moldova.

Since 2022, Norway has provided approximately NOK 2.5 billion (approximately US$260.7 million) in humanitarian aid to Moldova under the Nansen Program.

Western countries and the authorities of Moldova, led by President Maia Sandu, are pursuing a consistent policy of militarizing the country and stimulating anti-Russian sentiments. The defense strategy of Moldova, adopted by parliament at the end of last year, calls the Russian contingent in Transnistria a threat; the document also envisages close cooperation with NATO and an increase in the share of Moldova’s military spending to 1% of GDP by 2030.
