Today, the US authorities announced the deportation of political commentator and far-right activist Milo Yiannopoulos to his country, Britain, after his arrest for violating residency laws.
Yiannopoulos is one of Donald Trump's first supporters, and he also expressed his support for the Republican president's strict campaign against immigrants, but he later clashed with the Trump movement.
The US Department of Homeland Security said in a statement, according to Agence France-Presse, that Yiannopoulos was arrested Thursday at New Orleans International Airport, and was deported the next day by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Yiannopoulos had exceeded the period during which he was allowed to reside in the United States after his arrival in 2019, and a final order of deportation was issued against him by an immigration judge on July 22 of this year, “after he failed to attend a hearing for his case.”
Yiannopoulos worked as an editor at the right-wing American news website Breitbart News, and supported Trump during his 2016 election campaign, but recently he criticized the US president.
Right-wing influencer Laura Loomer praised the news of his arrest, and boasted in a blog post on the X platform that she was “the first person to reveal the truth about Milo’s presence in the United States illegally, where he incited violence against President Trump.”
ACE is responsible for implementing Trump's anti-immigration campaign, and many Americans consider its methods "brutal."
In September 2025, Yiannopoulos wrote on the X platform: “Complete legal immunity for ACE agents while performing their duties.”
A police officer was killed and another was injured in the US state of South Carolina, on Saturday, in a shooting in a park, according to the police chief of the state capital, Columbia.
Columbia Police Department Chief W. H. Holbrook, said the suspect was also killed.
Holbrook said in a press conference on Saturday evening that the incident began when two officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute.
“Our hearts are broken this evening,” he said, adding that the deceased officer left behind a wife and two young children.
Holbrook added that the deceased officer was 29 years old and had worked for the police department for two years.
Holbrooke did not take any questions, but said other briefings would be issued later.
An American judge indicated that the administration of President Donald Trump is working “unconstitutionally” to silence critics of Israel because of its war in the Gaza Strip and other countries, according to what the Associated Press reported.
Federal Judge Noelle Wise in California said, based on the importance of the First Amendment to the Constitution, that the US government is working unconstitutionally to silence critics of Israel, as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to deport non-citizens who it says have caused disturbances on campuses while expressing their opinions.
In a ruling issued on Friday, Judge Wise won a victory for the student newspaper at Stanford University, which said that some international students were afraid to express their opinions publicly due to the threat of deportation.
The ruling is based largely on the findings of a federal judge in Boston nearly a year ago, who ruled that the Trump administration violated the Constitution when it targeted noncitizens for deportation simply because they supported the Palestinians and criticized Israel.
Freedom of speech and freedom of the press, Wise wrote, are “essential to America’s enduring democracy.” The judge pointed to defects related to freedom of expression and the lack of clarity in the legal texts, considering that they violate the First and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution, and invalidated parts of the provisions on which the federal government relies in deportations.
Wise also referred to “retaliatory measures” taken by US immigration authorities in March 2025 against people who expressed pro-Palestinian positions and opposition to Israeli measures.
