People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chairman Tuncer Bakırhan attended his party's Diyarbakır Provincial Presidency Congress.
Speaking at the congress held at Sezai Karakoç Culture and Congress, Bakırhan made statements regarding the 'fund investigation'. Stating that there was an unprecedented scandal in the stock market, Bakırhan stated that it was said that at least 500 thousand investors were affected by this profiteering and robbery. Bakırhan said:
"500 thousand is not a small amount. If each of them had four houses, two million people would be negatively affected by this three-day plunder. These 500 thousand people are asking what will happen. But as always, the authorities are not clear about what will happen. Has a single statement been made to date that convinces and satisfies 500 thousand people? It has not been made. Has a single word been said to reassure them? It has not been said. Well, for the sake of God, each of these 500 thousand people has a child. They have a house. They have rent. "They have a problem of making a living. They are not just a life, they are not a family. They are also hundreds of thousands of people who live the dreams, hopes and security of their children. Now, we are all watching the money of these 500 thousand people being confiscated, let me tell you."
Bakırhan, who said that this situation in the stock market said "I am coming" and that it had been alarming for how many days and months, said, "But there was no intervention in this. I ask you: Why did the administrators of this country not intervene in a crisis, a profiteering, a robbery that said "I am coming?" he said.
Reminding the allegations within the scope of the fund investigation regarding AKP Deputy Chairman Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, Bakırhan made the following evaluations:
"The one hundred liras of a former minister and currently the deputy leader of a party become two thousand liras. He earns twenty times more money in four months. Don't they ask you? In this process where the future of 500 thousand people is stolen and robbed, how does this former minister's one hundred liras become two thousand three hundred liras? Therefore, this issue must be investigated thoroughly. It must be revealed who robbed the rights and laws of those 500 thousand of our people. Look, one hundred liras is two thousand liras." lira. Nobody cares. Our Barış mothers send money to their children with IBAN and are being prosecuted. One of our friends cannot make ends meet and asks for 2,000 liras or a thousand liras from his brother, and the state launches an investigation.
Either you scrutinize the worker's three or five liras, for which I am the victim, and you open an investigation against him. There are Iban victims in the prison, it is full right now, you are putting them in prison. But one lira of your ministry has become two hundred liras, and you remain silent. We object to this. We do not accept this. I'm calling out to the authorities. This investigation and this audit must be carried out in a transparent manner. It should not be darkened. It should be done in front of the public. At least the principal money of the families must be surrendered for now. Those responsible must be brought to justice. It must be revealed how the one who turns one into two faces does this and through whom. Those who allow this robbery, whether ministers, administrators or whoever, must be held accountable. This money must be traced and where it went must be explained to 86 million people. "There are assets that have been confiscated, and these assets should be given to small investors first."
