Deniz Yavuzyılmaz described the investigation against her husband as an AKP operation

An investigation was launched against Serpil Yavuzyılmaz, wife of NEW Party Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, for the crimes of 'plunder' and 'fraud to the detriment of public institutions or organizations'.

Yavuzyılmaz shared a statement regarding the issue on his social media account. Yavuzyılmaz wrote:

"To the Attention of the Public,

During my duty as a Member of Parliament;

I am trying to enlighten the public about the corruption, irregularities and public harms committed by the AKP.

For this reason, I am aware that I am the target and threat of the AKP and various power groups.

I knew that the AKP would attack because of the statements I made about fund robbery and the files I was working on.

But I didn't expect them to stoop so low as to do this through my wife.

The issue is that they threaten me through my family because they cannot touch me.

I continue my work with a large staff, both in the past and today. Among them are my advisors, experts in various fields, lawyers and politicians.

The purpose of the unfounded claim is to prevent the issue of fund profiteering from being discussed.

Attacking me from here, and through my wife, is an attempt to assassinate my reputation and silence me.

Those who carried out this operation clearly say: "You and your party, do not investigate this issue of fund profiteering any further!"

I reject this vile message that is wanted to be given to all MPs and their families through me.

I am not going to give up on this threat, this vileness. "I will continue to address AKP's corruption, irregularities and public harms with determination."
