Deputy André do Prado mocks the actions of São Paulo senators and asks for votes for himself and Derrite

State deputy and Senate candidate André do Prado (PL) mocked the performance of the senators elected by São Paulo, including his party colleague, astronaut Marcos Pontes, as well as Mara Gabrilli (PSD) and Alexandre Giordano (Podemos).

The statement was made this Wednesday (2) in a speech at the event launching the candidacy for re-election of state deputy Thiago Auricchio (PL), in São Caetano do Sul, in Greater São Paulo.

"An easy question, who are the three senators who represent the state of São Paulo today?" Prado asked the audience, according to a video recorded by the local channel Ponto da Notícia.

Ironically, he added: "Calm down, calm down, calm down, slowly, there are a lot of people talking at the same time, and that makes it difficult"

He then asked for votes for himself and the other candidate on the ticket, Guilherme Derrite (PP), who was also present at the event.

"We, São Paulo residents, don't know the names of our three senators. This means that the Senate is far away," he stated.

"It is important to have senators like me and Derrite, who know our prerogatives and who cannot be afraid to vote for the impeachment of a STF minister", he continued.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that São Paulo senators have been criticized in the city of São Caetano do Sul. In March of this year, mayor Tite Campanella, at the time in the PL, left Marcos Pontes upset during a tribute to Derrite in the city's City Council.

"There are three senators who have absolutely nothing to say," said the mayor at the time. In April, the PL accepted Pontes' request and expelled Campanella, who migrated to the Republicans.
