Mendonça asks for divine blessing for the Judiciary after revelations of messages between Moraes and banker

Minister André Mendonça, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), gave a speech this Thursday morning (3) in which he asked God to bless the representatives of the Judiciary and spoke of "honoring" the trust placed by the population in the Justice system.

The statement comes two days after revelations that former banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, sent messages to STF minister Alexandre de Moraes, which triggered an unprecedented crisis in the court.

"May God also bless us on this side of the table and everyone who represents the Judiciary and, in a special way, the Justice system as a whole. May we honor the trust that the main thing, which is the people, the citizen, places", said Mendonça during an event at the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), of which he is also a member, with religious leaders.

Rapporteur of the Master case in court, Mendonça was responsible for making public the Federal Police report on exchanges of messages between Moraes and Vorcaro. In one of the conversations revealed, the banker asks Moraes if he should leave the country two days before being arrested, in November 2025.

In addition to Moraes, the report also points to messages sent to Vorcaro that were supposedly from the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet.

After the release of the report, Mendonça asked the president of the STF, minister Edson Fachin, for the messages to be debated in the court's plenary, with the participation of the other members.

One day after the crisis was triggered in the Supreme Court, a meeting between Mendonça and Vorcaro also became public. On that occasion, the minister received the then banker in his office at the Iter Institute, founded by him, to talk about court orders. At the time, the topic was being discussed in the STF and was of interest to the Master.

In a note, the judge highlighted that he voted against the businessman's interests in the trial.

Added to this, as reported by the ICL Notícias website, messages obtained from Vorcaro's cell phone show that the lawyer Ciro Rocha Soares, linked to him, had taken Mendonça to buy a suit. In an audio sent to the banker, Ciro stated that he had "shaken" the minister with the problems faced by Master at the Central Bank.
