The September 7th parade in Porto Velho will be held at night due to the high temperatures. The gathering starts at 4pm and the parade at 6pm.

The Rondônia government's decision aims to provide more comfort to students and the public. The change reduces exposure to heat during the so-called Amazon summer.

Inmet predicts many clouds and isolated rain showers this Monday (7). The temperature in Porto Velho should vary from 24 °C to 32 °C.

The military and civic parade will bring together the Armed Forces, security forces, emergency agencies and 13 schools. Some units will participate with music bands.

This is the second consecutive year of the parade on Avenida Santos Dumont. In 2025, the celebration took place in the morning.

Due to the high temperatures, the 7th of September Civic and Military Parade will be held at night in Porto Velho this year. The meeting is scheduled for 4pm, on Avenida Santos Dumont, close to Espaço Alternativo. The parade starts at 6pm.

For 2026, the government of Rondônia decided to transfer the programming to the night period because of the high temperatures recorded during the so-called Amazon summer.

According to the organization, the change was made to provide more comfort to students, families and the public, reducing exposure to heat during the event.

The organization also reported that, at night, temperatures are milder and the place has adequate lighting for the parade.

Weather forecast

According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), Porto Velho will have many clouds and isolated rain showers on Monday (7), the September 7th holiday. The temperature must vary between 24 °C and 32 °C, with relative humidity between 40% and 90%.

According to Inmet, temperatures should remain stable throughout the day. The institute also maintains a yellow warning of potential danger for a decline in temperature in the southwest and south of Rondônia.

Programming

The Civic and Military Parade on September 7, 2026 will have the participation of the Armed Forces, security forces, emergency agencies, students and civil entities.

The student parade will bring together 13 schools, including military and state network units. Some institutions will also participate with music bands.

This will be the second consecutive year that Porto Velho holds the parade on Avenida Santos Dumont. In 2025, the event took place in the morning.
