The sexual assaults since the massive entry on July 30 in Ceuta amounted to 10 until yesterday, five of them being rapes -sexual assaults with penetration-, according to data collected by EL MUNDO from police and judicial sources. All known victims are migrants and among them are minors.
Three girls went to the University Hospital in the last few hours accompanied by their monitors. They are minors housed in dependent centers in the city and were transferred to be examined after reporting that they had suffered sexual assaults. They were unable to identify the alleged perpetrators nor could they determine their nationality. According to their testimonies, they were unknown people whom they had seen around the city and whose clothing they associated with that of some of those who arrived in the avalanche. They did not make reference to people of sub-Saharan origin and the possibility that they were Moroccan responds to the perception of the minors, not to a police identification.
The complaints began to become known in the first days of August, when the University Hospital treated several migrant minors and health and police protocols were activated. In some cases, Justice has already acted and, in fact, the Superior Court of Andalusia reported last week of three proceedings against Moroccan migrants, in two cases against minors. Two investigated have already entered prison and a third was expelled to Morocco.
Until yesterday, the sources consulted by EL MUNDO have no record of any complaint of rape of a woman, adolescent or girl from Ceuta attributed to people arriving during the arrivals of July 30-31. A fact that contrasts with the various information and messages on social networks that, in recent days, increased the number of alleged rapes, with women from the autonomous city as victims. The documented cases would be the 10 outlined, five of them for rape.
The other controversial news focus has to do with the alleged migrants who entered Ceuta with a history of terrorism. The police sources consulted by EL MUNDO explain that during the crisis two people who had a ban on entry into Spain in force have been expelled for reasons linked to jihadism. Specifically, due to its link to radicalization processes. But these same sources deny that they have now been arrested for terrorism or that they are attributed with the preparation of a possible attack in the city of Ceuta.
One of these people was located at sea by the Civil Guard and the second was identified by the National Police. When the agents verified their identities, they found that both were prohibited from returning to Spain and action was taken to enforce the expulsion measures that were imposed on them.
A police source explains to EL MUNDO that an entry ban can arise from a judicial resolution, but also from an administrative decision adopted in accordance with immigration legislation for reasons related to State security. In this last case, it is not necessary that the person has committed an attack. A foreign citizen may be expelled and subsequently prohibited from entering Spain due to a history related to radicalization processes. If he returns to Spanish territory while this prohibition remains in force and is identified, proceedings will be taken against him again, as is the case of the two aforementioned people.
