Two bathers are rescued from drowning in the sea at Cabo de Santo Agostinho by SDS helicopter

Two bathers were saved from drowning in the sea at Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in Greater Recife, on Sunday morning (27). They were rescued after being located by a helicopter from the Pernambuco Social Defense Secretariat (SDS) and with the help of two men who jumped from the aircraft (see video above).

This case happened between the beaches of Pedra do Xaréu and Enseada dos Corais. According to SDS, a team from the Defense-01 aircraft, from the Tactical Air Group (GTA), was on a tour of the South Coast of Pernambuco when they encountered a group of people asking for help on the sand strip and pointing towards the sea.

The team located a man and a woman, whose names and ages were not disclosed, swimming away from the snatch strip, which is the shallowest area of ​​the beach and recommended for swimming.

"Two tactical aero operators were launched into the sea to carry out the rescue. The professionals approached and led the victims safely to the sand strip. After the rescue, post-drowning care procedures were carried out, with monitoring of the victims' vital signs until the conclusion of the incident and support from teams on land", said the SDS in a statement.

The Military Fire Department reported that it was not called in this case.
