Three injured after attack at the bus station in Köthen - 16-year-old in custody

A group of four people attacked three young men at the bus station in Köthen (Anhalt-Bitterfeld district) in the early hours of last Saturday.

The victims, aged 19, 21 and 22, were thrown to the ground and kicked in the upper body and head, police said. The 21- and 22-year-olds suffered facial injuries, and the 19-year-old also suffered numerous bruises. All three men were taken to the hospital.

The police identified two 16-year-old suspects. According to police, one of the two is believed to have made significant contributions to the crime. The Dessau-Roßlau public prosecutor's office filed an application for arrest, which a judge granted. The 16-year-old is now in custody. The charge is attempted murder.

The motive for the attack is still unclear. The investigation into other people involved in the crime is ongoing, according to the police.
