Meteorological Administration: Under the influence of the northeast monsoon on Friday, there will be local brief showers in the eastern half of the north

The Meteorological Administration reminds that on Friday (11th), due to the influence of the northeast monsoon, there will be a lot of moisture. There will be short-term showers in the northeastern region of Taiwan and the north coast of Keelung, and there is a chance of local heavy rains. There will be local short-term showers in the north, east, southeastern areas of Taoyuan and the Hengchun Peninsula. The temperature difference between day and night will gradually increase. Please put on more clothes in time to avoid catching cold when you go out early and return home late.

The Central Meteorological Administration predicts that on Friday, the northeast monsoon will continue to be affected and moisture will increase. There will be local short-lived showers in the north and eastern half of Taoyuan and the Hengchun Peninsula on the windward side. Rainfall will be more obvious on the north coast of Keelung and Yilan, and some heavy rain will occur. As for the cloudiness in the south of Hsinchu, the cloudiness will increase slightly, and there will be local short-lived showers in the mountainous and southern areas in the afternoon.

In terms of temperature, the weather is slightly cooler in the evening and early morning, with low temperatures in various places generally ranging from 23 to 25 degrees. During the day, the high temperature in the north and eastern half of Taoyuan is about 28 to 30 degrees, and in the south of Hsinchu, it is 31 to 32 degrees.

The weather on the outlying islands will be cloudy and sometimes sunny in Penghu, 26 to 29 degrees Celsius; sunny and cloudy in Kinmen, 25 to 31 degrees; and sunny and cloudy in Matsu, 26 to 29 degrees.

Afternoon thundershowers in central and southern China

In terms of weather in the next few days, the weather risk company pointed out that there will be some short-lived showers in Taoyuan, Greater Taipei, Keelung North Coast, Yilan, and northern Hualien on the windward side on Friday. There will still be afternoon thermal convective rainfall in the central and southern mountainous areas and the Huadong mountainous area. The continental high pressure in the north will move eastward over the weekend, and the northeast monsoon will weaken. The return of high pressure will be coupled with tropical disturbances in the south. After the Philippines moves towards the South China Sea, the general wind direction turns to the easterly. The windward areas include the east side of Taipei, Yihua East and the Hengchun Peninsula. There will still be opportunities for short-term showers. In the western half of the area, there will be local short-term showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon. Mountainous areas are more obvious, while flat areas are relatively less affected. Pay attention to weather changes when going out in the afternoon.

In terms of UV index, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi and Kinmen were at "excessive level" on Friday, while other counties and cities were at "medium to high level".

In terms of air quality, the Yilan and Huadong Kongpin Districts were rated as "good" on Friday; the northern, Zhumiao Kongpin Districts, Matsu, Kinmen, and Penghu were at the "Ordinary" level; the central, Yunjianan, and Gaoping Kongpin Districts were at the "Orange Alert" level.
