On Sunday, Tokayev dismissed Dauren Kosanov from the post of defense minister and appointed Aidos Myrzakhmetov to this post. The personnel decision followed the death of 14 sailors during exercises in the Caspian Sea.

“The President noted that during the exercises, military personnel were not provided with the necessary equipment, including marine life jackets,” says a message on the website of the President of Kazakhstan.
