Western experts call for the creation of integrated air defense to combat drones and missiles

Western military experts believe that new types of weapons require the creation of more integrated defense systems that would be ready for a wide range of threats aimed at overcoming air defenses. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) writes about this with reference to experts.

NATO needs to create a multinational counter-drone force that will constantly train to shoot down all types of UAVs and missiles, says British analyst Justin Bronk. “It's not such a difficult problem. We just don’t have the necessary resources to solve it,” he noted.

This could be done, he said, using relatively affordable equipment such as radar-guided anti-aircraft guns and simple jets.

US and NATO officials say they are working to resolve the problem.

“We must apply and adapt all available tools and capabilities to the realities we face today,” said Army Col. Martin O'Donnell, spokesman for Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Gen. Alexus Grynkiewicz.

At a recent summit, NATO members pledged to invest more than $40 billion over five years in counter-drone capabilities, he said.
