Russia does not consider Switzerland a neutral state. This was stated by the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, on the social network X.

According to him, Switzerland's neutrality is in fact just an attempt to pass off wishful thinking. “This is Switzerland's choice. No hard feelings. This situation simply proved that Switzerland is not strong enough to be truly neutral,” the permanent representative wrote.

Earlier, the Swiss rejected an initiative to enshrine stricter neutrality in the constitution in a referendum. The amendments included a complete ban on the country's imposition of sanctions against other countries, including Russia.
