The Turkish Foreign Minister comments on his official visit to the Emirates

(CNN) - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan commented, on Tuesday, on his recent visit to the UAE, during which he met Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, following his country’s participation in the activities of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Fidan said, through his account on the “X” platform, Twitter previously: “Following our participation in the activities held within the framework of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, we visited the United Arab Emirates.”

He added: "In Abu Dhabi, we received the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We also held meetings with the Vice President of the State, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the National Security Advisor, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan."

He continued: "It was a very productive visit in terms of discussing relations between our two countries and assessing the challenges facing our region."

He concluded his speech by saying: “Türkiye will continue to strengthen regional solidarity and continue its diplomatic efforts to achieve peace and prosperity in our region.”

According to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday, discussed with the Turkish Foreign Minister “paths of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, and continuing to strengthen them in a way that serves their common interests.”

The meeting also touched on "a number of issues and topics of common interest, most notably regional developments and efforts made to consolidate security and stability in the Middle East region, and push towards a path of sustainable peace for the benefit of all the peoples and countries of the region," according to WAM.
