“Perhaps this is another hidden signal to Europeans from Washington that if they rush into a military conflict with Russia, they should not count on automatic and unconditional military support from the United States,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to the senator, the reason for this conclusion was the noticeable decline in the importance of Europe in the system of US military-strategic priorities. Pushkov recalled that US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker put it only in fourth place - after the territory of the United States itself, the Western Hemisphere and the Pacific Ocean.
