Candidate Eduardo Velloso (Solidarity) is running for one of Acre's two seats in the Federal Senate in this year's elections. A doctor who has worked in the state since 2006, he points to his experience in the health sector as the main motivator for entering public life.
In 2022, he was elected federal deputy for Acre. During his term in the Chamber of Deputies, the candidate claims to have prioritized the allocation of amendments to the capital and interior.
Furthermore, Velloso mentions having coordinated resources for health, citing as examples the investment in robotic surgery at the Fundação Hospitalar do Acre (Fundhacre), the acquisition of imaging diagnostic equipment and the decentralization of specialized treatments to the interior of the state.
If elected to the Senate, Eduardo Velloso states that health will continue to be his main focus of action in the National Congress.
Projects
Among the goals presented are the construction of new health units and the expansion of highly complex treatments within the state, with the aim of reducing the need for Out-of-Home Treatment (PDT).
In the area of social assistance and inclusion, Eduardo Velloso proposes the creation of a reference center aimed at serving people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
"Our main agenda is health, we are going to revolutionize the state. We have here, as a proposal for the Senate, a new children's hospital and the renovation of the hospital for the elderly. We want to take robotic surgery to the two regions, along with heart treatment as well. We have very serious work so that people who need to be treated for cancer can do this here [in Acre]. That's why we say that health deserves a seat in the Senate", explained the candidate.
In an interview with Rede Amazônica Acre, Velloso also highlighted that he defends encouraging rural production as a driver of economic development for Acre.
"Today we work with rural production that boosts our state's economy. There are more than 1,300 families being served with technical assistance, planting coffee, cocoa and açaí, so that our agriculture will, in the future, be as strong as that of Rondônia, making us one of the largest exporters", he stated.
If elected in October, Eduardo Velloso will assume an eight-year term in the Federal Senate, joining the Acre bench in the House, made up of three parliamentarians.

Interviews with Senate candidates
Rede Amazônica defined a series of live interviews with the five candidates who met the criteria established based on the first Quaest survey commissioned and released by the broadcaster.
The TV interviews were carried out during Bom Dia Acre, starting at 7:30 am, lasting 25 minutes, including final considerations. The order of interviewees was defined by draw:
Monday (31): Márcio Bittar (PL) — interview canceled after the candidate withdrew from participating;
Tuesday (1st): Mara Rocha (Republicans) — check out the interview summary here;
Wednesday (2): Petecão (PSD) — interview canceled after scheduling conflict;
Thursday (3): Jorge Viana (PT) — interview canceled after the candidate did not show up at the established time;
Friday (4): Gladson Camelí (Progressives) — candidate canceled his participation.
Candidates who were not among the top five in the survey or did not reach at least 5% of voting intentions had space in two-minute recorded compensatory reports. The articles were shown on Bom Dia Acre on Monday (7) and on CBN Amazônia on Saturday (12).

The series also includes interviews on the radio, on the Jornal da Manhã program, on CBN Amazônia Rio Branco, between this Monday (7) and Friday (11), at 8:30 am. Each candidate will have 20 minutes to participate.
The interview order at CBN Rio Branco, also previously defined, is as follows:

In addition to the interviews, a live debate with Senate candidates is planned on September 25th.
