The reason for the stabbing was related to his previous cat abuse incident. Many netizens not only did not sympathize with him, but also supported the woman involved.

Revelations widely circulated on Chinese social platforms pointed out that Jack La Tiao was attacked with a knife by a woman at his residence. The woman saw Jack La Tiao's past cat abuse videos and suffered severe psychological and mental distress. She was specially monitored across provinces for six months. After learning her whereabouts, she attacked Jack La Tiao and his family with a knife. This statement comes from an online community post. In April 2023, Jack Spicy was discovered to have stolen a neighbor's cat and took it to a grove for three days of inhumane abuse.
