Collapse of a stand at the Château de Bienassis: sixteen minor injuries

The alert was given around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Spectators who had just settled in the stands of the Château de Bienassis, in Erquy (Côtes-d’Armor), called the firefighters to report an incident. While waiting for the start of a sound and light show, the audience suddenly saw the platform on which they were sitting collapse. “Around a hundred people were present on the stage concerned when it collapsed,” specifies the Côtes-d’Armor prefecture.

According to state services, sixteen people were treated by emergency services for superficial injuries. All were classified as relative urgency. Five people were evacuated to the Saint-Brieuc hospital center. “The other participants and extras in the show left the premises without difficulty,” specifies the prefecture.

Circumstances not yet established

Around fifty firefighters, Samu teams and around ten police officers were present at the scene. The last performance of the show on the life of Anne de Bretagne has been canceled, reports Ouest-France, which revealed the information.

For the moment, the circumstances of this subsidence remain undetermined. An investigation was opened by the Saint-Brieuc public prosecutor's office.
