Josep Juanpere's nephew comes out of an induced coma as the investigation into his death progresses

The nephew of Josep Juanpere, one of the main witnesses in the investigation into the architect's death, has emerged from the induced coma in which he remained while admitted to a clinic in Barcelona, ​​as published this Friday by El Mundo. The relative, whose initials are A.J., was the one who found his uncle's body on December 26, 2025 in his second residence in Baqueira.

A. J. had been hospitalized for more than a week for a lung ailment and was in an induced coma. According to what the aforementioned media has learned, he has already woken up, although he remains admitted to the health center. The news came out a few hours before the judge sent the architect's partner accused of murder to prison on bail of 80,000 euros.

His testimony is relevant to the investigation because he was present during some of the last hours of the architect's life and was the one who went to the apartment where he was found dead. Uncle and nephew maintained a very close relationship and had planned to spend Christmas Eve together in Baqueira, a dinner to which Juanpere's romantic partner joined.

During dinner on December 24, 2025, Juanpere began to feel unwell, with vomiting and severe discomfort. His nephew and his partner took him to the Vielha hospital, where he remained for several hours under observation before being discharged. Two days later, on December 26, the architect was found dead in his home in Baqueira.

It was his nephew who went to the apartment and found the architect dead along with his partner, who had not called the emergency services. The investigation tries to clarify what happened during the hours that elapsed from the time Juanpere returned to the home after receiving the medical discharge until he was found dead.
