Reaction from Retired Rear Admiral Yankı Bağcıoğlu to Meis visit

Retired Rear Admiral Yankı Bağcıoğlu described the visit of Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis to Meis as "a document of open violation of the non-military status of the island".

Retired Rear Admiral Yankı Bağcıoğlu noted the following in his post on his social media account:

"The visit of the Greek Prime Minister to the KARATHANASIS (P-78) assault boat, which is on a rotational basis in Meis, is a clear document of violation of the non-military status of the island. The visits to Fener and Karaada, whose sovereignty is disputed, are provocative steps that are incompatible with the spirit of confidence-building measures."
