Emma Bonino has lung cancer: "Chemotherapy has started"

Emma Bonino has a tumor, she herself revealed it to Radio Radicale. Medical checks "have highlighted the presence of the disease in the left lung - he said -. It is a localized and still asymptomatic form, but nevertheless it will require a long and complex chemotherapy treatment which has already been started and which will last at least 6 months".

"I have no intention of interrupting my activities because - continues Emma Bonino in the statement - one cannot resign from a political passion, however it is clear that my activities will have to be organized based on the medical needs which must be given absolute priority at this moment, which is not easy for me too". The former foreign minister adds that he has three comments to make.

"The first is aimed at media operators: I would ask you to respect this situation without starting to do investigations or various things, I thank the operators who even in the most difficult moments have stood by me within the limits of their possibilities, in particular I thank Antonella Rampino, Giovanna Casadio, Stefano Folli, Stella Pende, very few others, as well as the foreign press. To all those who in Italy and elsewhere face this or other trials I just want to say that we must all strive to be people and want to live free until the end, in short, I am not my tumor and you are not your disease either, we just have to think that we are people facing a challenge that has happened.
