Caixa employees maintain national strike after rejection of ACT proposal

Employees at Caixa Econômica Federal decided to maintain the national strike that began on September 10th. The company's proposal was rejected in a virtual meeting held this Monday (21) afternoon. The strike command is expected to announce the movement's next steps soon.

The strike began after employees rejected the proposal to renew the Collective Labor Agreement (ACT) and decided on a national strike. According to the Executive Committee of Employees (CEE), more than 90% of the union bases rejected the proposal presented by the institution.

Among the main points of divergence, and one of the main demands, is Saúde Caixa, an employee health care plan. Workers also demand progress in other items of the specific agreement, negotiated since June.

The company's proposal, rejected today, would increase the bank's participation ceiling in the funding of Saúde Caixa from 6.5% to 9% of the payroll, starting in 2027.
